Microsoft’s Online Storage Product Now Known as OneDrive

Microsoft renamed its SkyDrive cloud storage product today, calling it OneDrive as a result of settling a copyright lawsuit with BSkyB last July. The service, which launched in 2007, was initially called Windows Live Folders, though SkyDrive had been its code name, according to reports at the time. It originally offered 512 megabytes of free storage. OneDrive isn’t yet accepting new users, but SkyDrive most recently offered 7 gigabytes for free, and a bunch more for Windows Phone users.
