Approximately 15 million to 20 million mobile games using the cross-platform Unity game engine are installed on iOS per day, Unity Technologies CEO David Helgason said at a dinner with members of the press last night. The dinner was co-hosted with Sean Ryan, Facebook’s director of games partnerships. Ryan said 130 million Facebook gamers had installed the Web Player plugin needed to play Unity games in a desktop Web browser. The two companies have no formal partnership, but Facebook encourages developers to use the Unity engine with some Facebook-made social add-ons.
