Apple iPhone 6 to Go on Sale in 36 More Countries

The latest iPhones are now available in a total of 69 countries, with 115 planned by the end of the year.

Apple

Apple said today it will launch the iPhone 6 and the larger Plus models in 36 additional countries, including China and India, by the end of the month — making the device available in a total of 69 countries.

The company added it’s on track to offer the device in more than 115 countries by the end of the year, which would be its fastest ever rollout of a smartphone.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 and its larger sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus, on Sept. 9, and achieved a sales milestone within 78 hours of the device’s launch on Sept. 19.

The Chinese government licensed the device for use on its networks two weeks after its U.S. introduction. Prices for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the black market plummeted in anticipation of the imminent approval.

The technology giant is expected to update the iPad at an event Thursday on its Cupertino campus.
