Talking tech on CNBC, NPR and elsewhere.

Re/code‘s writers don’t spend all their time in front of computers — sometimes, they’re also in front of TV cameras and radio microphones. Here’s a roundup of where we were this week.

On Tuesday, James Temple joined NPR’s Here & Now to talk about his night with Elon Musk’s D — that is, the latest version of the Tesla electric car.

In other Tesla news, Arik Hesseldahl joined CNBC to talk about the research firm IHS’s recent teardown of the Tesla Model S dashboard.

Also on CNBC, Walt Mossberg offered a look-ahead at Apple’s latest product announcements, and he also discussed his review of the August Smart Lock.

Eric Johnson (that’s me!) appeared on MSNBC to discuss Gamergate, an ongoing online clash over gender and journalism in games.

And on the NBC Nightly News, Peter Kafka talked about HBO’s about-face decision to offer an over-the-top online subscription, starting next year.

Peter also talked about the same announcement with KCRW.

On Wednesday, Kurt Wagner joined Tech News Today to chat about a new Facebook feature for emergency check-ins during natural disasters.

Thursday was the day of yet another product event from Apple, and Lauren Goode talked about the latest with WAGT. Arik Hesseldahl then did the same with CNBC.

And finally, on Friday, Kara Swisher joined CNBC to talk about Cupertino’s upcoming payments system Apple Pay, which launches on Monday.
