Gilt.com, the online retail shop that sells clothing in short bursts known as flash sales, has tapped Clay Cowan as its new chief marketing officer. Cowan will join Gilt next month from Starwood Hotels, where he was senior vice president of global digital. He fills a role vacated by former CMO Lizzie Francis, who left Gilt this summer.
