Reddit CEO Yishan Wong has resigned, with second-in-command Ellen Pao stepping in as interim CEO. Board member Alexis Ohanian is taking a larger role as chairman and will now be in charge of marketing, communications, strategy and community. The change was explained in blog posts by Ohanian and investor Sam Altman — who, by the way, said when leading the company’s last funding round he relinquished his voting rights to the Reddit management team. Altman said today the resignation happened unexpectedly after the board pushed back on Wong’s plans to move to a new office.
