You can now privately share a tweet with someone within Direct Messages on Twitter. The social network announced the new feature on its blog today, a little more than a week after promising it was coming at its analyst day. Twitter wants users to seamlessly bring their public conversations into the private sphere without leaving Twitter to do so. Previously, the best way to send a tweet to a friend was to email it to them, or draw their attention to it by publicly mentioning them on the service. The new tool is available as part of an app update for both iOS and Android.
