  1. On Tuesday, search officials recovered debris and bodies from AirAsia flight QZ5801, which went missing over the Java Sea on Sunday.
  2. The debris was found six miles from the plane's last known location, in the Karimata Strait.
  3. The plane was flying from Surabaya, Indonesia, to Singapore, and lost contact approximately 42 minutes into the two-hour flight.
  4. The plane was carrying 155 passengers and seven crew members. The passenger total included 149 Indonesians, three Koreans, one Singaporean, one British person, and one Malaysian.
  5. The cause of the crash is still unknown, but there were thunderstorms in the area around the time the plane lost contact, and previously, the pilot had requested an alternate route to avoid inclement weather.
  6. It's reported that six bodies have been spotted in the waters by search teams, and three recovered so far. Ships from five countries will continue the search effort Wednesday morning.
