Twitter’s former head of product Dainel Graf is leaving the company just one month after he was demoted.

Graf announced his departure Friday on Twitter.
Graf announced his departure on Twitter Friday afternoon. He was hired to run Twitter’s product team in April after managing Google Maps, but was demoted in late October. Graf was hired by Twitter COO Ali Rowghani who was pushed out of the company over the summer after failing to spur the kind of growth expected by CEO Dick Costolo.
Graf was demoted for similar reasons, according to people within the company, and was replaced by Twitter VP Kevin Weil. At the time, Graf was expected to work on Twitter’s geo-location products moving forward, but that plan has obviously changed. Twitter declined to comment, and Graf did not specify what he’ll be doing next.
The departure is not a surprise given Graf’s change in responsibilities, but it’s yet another example of executive churn at Twitter, which has had a number of departures over the past year. Weil is the third product head at Twitter this year alone, with Graf and previous Product VP Michael Sippey both departing the company.
