A copyright infringement lawsuit brought by Candy Crush Saga maker King against competitor 6Waves will be heard in San Francisco, rather than in Beijing as the Hong Kong-headquartered defendant had requested. King alleges that 6Waves’ Treasure Epic and Farm Epic copied its games Pet Rescue Saga and Farm Heroes Saga, a charge that 6waves strongly denied in a statement last August (King itself has, more recently, come under cloning allegations). A U.S. District Court judge ruled that 6Waves’ arguments in favor of a dismissal from San Francisco to Beijing were not compelling enough to warrant a move.
