L’Oréal’s top marketer is going to work for Google.

Marc Speichert, who became the cosmetic giant’s global chief marketing officer last fall, has left for the search giant, where he’ll try to help it grab more money from big-brand advertisers.

A Google rep said Speichert will go to work for Kirk Perry, who left Procter & Gamble last fall and now leads Google’s “Global Client and Agency Solutions” group, reporting to sales boss Nikesh Arora.

In a company memo announcing Speichert’s departure yesterday, L’Oréal CEO Frederic Roze didn’t name a replacement for him. But Roze said some of Speichert’s responsibilities would be handled by L’Oréal vet Marie Gulin, whom he was putting in charge of marketing in the U.S.
