Verizon Wireless Experiences Billing Outage

Verizon Wireless confirmed that it’s experiencing a problem with its billing system that is preventing customers from accessing their online accounts. The carrier declined to say how many people were impacted by the outage, though a spokeswoman said it impacts customers primarily in the Northeast, Midwest and some southern states. A spokeswoman said the service has not been hacked, though she did not have any further explanation for the problem.

The company said the problem does not affect network services — including the ability to place calls, send texts or receive data — and that it is working toward resolution.
