Code/Media New York Gets Bigger, Better, With Jill Abramson and DigiTour’s Meridith Valiando Rojas

One new speaker you probably don’t know, but should. And one you definitely know.

Peter Kafka
Peter Kafka covered media and technology, and their intersection, at Vox. Many of his stories can be found in his Kafka on Media newsletter, and he also hosts the Recode Media podcast.

Are you coming to our Code/Media event in New York next month? If so, you’re going to see a great show — as we announced earlier, we’re going to be sitting down with ESPN boss John Skipper and Time Inc. CEO Joe Ripp.

And now we’re proud to announce that our event will be even more interesting, because we’re adding Meridith Valiando Rojas and Jill Abramson to our roster.

  • You may not be familiar with Valiando Rojas. But there’s a good chance your kids have been to one of her shows, or want to go: She’s the CEO of DigiTour, the Live Nation for the Web video generation, which puts on sold-out concerts featuring YouTube and Vine stars. And if that seems odd to you, that’s just fine with her: Ryan Seacrest and Conde Nast’s Advance Publications are already believers.
  • You most definitely know Abramson, the former executive editor of the New York Times. And there’s a good chance you’ve heard part of the story about her departure from the paper last spring. Now you can hear what she has to say for yourself: This will be her first onstage appearance since May.

If you’ve been to one of our events before, you know what to expect: In-depth, unscripted interviews onstage; lots of interesting people to meet sitting next to you. And if you haven’t been before, this is a pretty great introduction.

The catch is that we don’t have much space left at the Steelcase WorkLife Center, where we’re hosting our evening event. So if you want to join us, please sign up now.

See you next month.
