Apple’s New “Flexible” iPhone 6 Plus? Check Out This Video.

Reports are circulating of the devices bending when carried in a front pants pocket.

Unbox Therapy

A new video on YouTube in which a reviewer bends an iPhone 6 Plus with his bare hands is attracting notice online and in the Apple enthusiast community.

In response to scattered reports of the jumbo phone bending in people’s front pockets, Unbox Therapy vlogger Lewis Hilsenteger conducted a “bend test” to see if he could deform the device with manual force. He could.

Hilsenteger’s hands clearly shake as he applies pressure to the back of the phone, but he succeeds in bowing the device. Of course, the demonstration is hardly a real-world scenario, except perhaps in a martial arts studio. “Will this happen in your front pocket?” asks Hilsenteger. “That probably depends on how tight your pants are.”

It’s unclear at this point whether this amounts to a significant problem, beyond the anecdotal accounts. An Apple representative declined to comment, but the company is clearly keeping an eye on the situation.

For now, though, check out the video.
