John Vechey, one of the three co-founders of EA-owned PopCap Games, has left the company after 15 years. In a farewell letter, Vechey said he plans to work more at Grist.org, a nonprofit environmental news site, where he was already a board member. He also hopes to “explore peace and social justice issues, such as war abolition, prison reform, poverty and the effects of race and gender privilege.” EA Mobile VP Frank Gibeau said the PopCap mobile team leadership remains unchanged; a separate team at EA handles the console titles from PopCap franchises Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies.
