  1. Bill Cosby was in New York City, not Los Angeles, on the night his most recent accuser says he drugged and sexually assaulted her at a party at LA’s Playboy Mansion, Cosby’s attorney said in a statement released Friday night.
  2. Chloe Goins, who was 18 years old at the time of the alleged 2008 assault, reportedly met with Los Angeles Police Department detectives last Wednesday to discuss pursuing criminal charges against Cosby.
  3. “The party took place on August 9, 2008. Mr. Cosby was in New York on that date. We will be providing documentary evidence to the appropriate authorities which conclusively establishes Mr. Cosby’s whereabouts on August 9th and for the preceding and succeeding days,” said the statement from Cosby attorney Martin D. Singer.

The latest denial

Cosby and his attorneys have denied the allegations from more than 15 women who have publicly accused the 77-year-old comedian of sexual assault during a period spanning 5 decades.

But this response to Goins’ claim (the only one against Cosby — who has never been charged with a crime — that appears to fall within a statute of limitations that would allow for criminal prosecution) is the first in which they have offered evidence that they say could definitively negate an allegation.

In response to the Friday statement from Cosby’s attorney, an attorney for Goins told MSNBC, “The LAPD will be the judge in whether his evidence is sufficient or not. Let’s see his proof. Until then, it is just a lawyer talking, which is not evidence.”
