Bernie Sanders Should Hire Larry David as His Double

Larry David as candidate Bernie Sanders nailed the energetic Democratic presidential hopeful in this “Saturday Night Live” skit.

Hillary Clinton’s email scandal has been fodder for late-night comedians throughout the summer.

NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” puts a fresh twist on the topic, wrapped in a 10-minute satire of CNN’s Democratic presidential debate. Asked about her use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State, comedian Kate McKinnon, as Clinton, responds, “I welcome this question, because I rehearsed this one the longest.”

Comedian Larry David, as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, interrupts in a humorous re-enactment of one of the most memorable moments during the real debate, noting that “the American people are sick and tired about hearing about your damn emails.”

But David keeps going, shouting and gesticulating wildly.

“What’s the deal with emails, anyway? I forgot my password the other day, so they say, ‘We’ll email you a new one,’” said the comedian. “But I can’t get into my email to get the password.”

The good-natured Sanders celebrated the David parody, circulating the clip to his followers on Twitter.

The candidate, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week,” invited David to join him at the next campaign event.

“I think we’ll use Larry at our next rally. He does better than I do,” Sanders said.

Check out the SNL skit here. The email exchange starts at the 5:30-minute mark.
