Microsoft’s Collapse and Facebook’s Mobile Domination in Two Charts (Video)

The rise of the smartphone era has made losers of long-time winners in personal computing while making winners of new entrants.

Case in point. Here’s what the market share decline of Microsoft, once the dominant force of personal computing, looks like over the last seven years.

And here’s a visual representation of how quickly Facebook has built a $10 billion business in mobile ads.

But big changes are on the horizon in mobile and Andreessen Horowitz partner Benedict Evans laid them out in a sweeping presentation at Re/code’s Code/Mobile conference at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, Calif., on Wednesday afternoon.
