Watch two llamas avoid the police in Arizona

Two llamas escaped from their llama home in Sun City, Arizona. After a surprisingly protracted chase, they were captured by authorities, thanks to some quick lassoing work.

This Vine will give you a good sense of the chaos.

One of the llamas proved wily enough to elude its pursuers’ grasp for a surprisingly long amount of time, racing through the streets of Sun City like it was on a mission. The AZcentral has compiled a play by play of streets the llamas took during its trot. By the time it was captured, it had skirted dangerously close to a major highway, so it was good the llama was eventually caught, even if the llama might disagree.

Here are the llamas living their best lives:

The llamas also proved excellent fodder for jokes.

The llamas were eventually lassoed by a man in a pickup truck. Though he proved excellent at lassoing, he did not seem to be with animal control.

Here is that moment:

We choose to remember the llamas like this — running free through the streets of suburban Arizona, “Born Free” inevitably playing in their heads as they make their break for freedom, all the while perhaps ignorant of the fact that the greater Phoenix metropolitan area sprawls in all directions around them. Run, llamas! Run! Llamas never say die!

As Beyonce, and maybe the llamas would say:

”I don’t care if we on the run
Baby as long as I’m next to you
And if loving you is a crime
Tell me why do I bring out
The best in you”

Update: This post has been updated to reflect the llamas’ eventual capture. Cherish this memory, llamas.
