- Pinterest, the digital scrapbooking and photo-sharing giant, raised $367 million at an $11 billion valuation, according to documents filed this week. The company may raise an additional $210 million before the round officially closes.
- Ad tech company MobPartner was acquired by the Chinese mobile software giant Cheetah Mobile for $58 million in cash and stock this week.
- The business data technology company Birst announced a $65 million funding round led by Wellington Management. The firm now has $129 million in total funding (Fortune).
- The sales technology firm Insidesales.com raised $60 million in additional financing this week from Salesforce and Microsoft. Previously the company raised $139 million at a $1.5 billion valuation (Wall Street Journal).
- Two Israeli startups raised big money from VCs this week: The enterprise technology company Fundbox raised $40 million in a round led by General Catalyst Partners, and the viral content farm Playbuzz (co-founded by the son of a former Israeli prime minister) raised $16 million (Haaretz).
- The AI tech company Quid announced a $39 million Series D round on Thursday, led by Liberty Interactive Corporation. The new round gives the company $53 million in total funding to date (Silicon Valley Business Journal).
- Rover, an Uber clone for petsitting, raised $25 million in a round led by Technology Crossover Ventures. Rover now has over $50 million in funding (Bloomberg).
- Glooko, which makes a tool to help diabetes patients manage their condition, raised $16.5 million in a Series B funding. The round features a strategic investment from the medical technology giant Medtronic (TechCrunch).
- Vidder, a cyber security firm that works to defend businesses from hackers, raised $12 million in a Series B funding round led by LDV Partners (Dow Jones).
- The data-focused enterprise tech startup Reltio landed $10 million in Series A funding from Crosslink Capital and .406 Ventures (eWeek).
- Shuddle, a ride-hailing service specifically for children, raised $9.6 million in a Series A round led by RRE Ventures (Forbes).
- The ad tech company Chitika is spinning off its mobile advertising unit, Cidewalk, as an independent company with $4 million in seed funding (India New England).
- Draft, a fantasy sports app, raised $3.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Upfront Ventures. Additional investors include Advancit Capital, BoxGroup, the Chernin Group and QueensBridge Venture Partners.
- The Germany-based fertility app Clue raised $2 million in an effort to help it scale globally with more languages and features (MobiHealthNews).
- ProtonMail, a Switzerland-based encrypted email service, raised $2 million after an open beta with more than 350,000 users. The investors are Charles River Ventures and the nonprofit incubator Fongit (TechCrunch).
