Re/actions: Bathroom Simulator Is a Really Crappy Video Game

Consider yourself warned: This is kind of gross. It’s also kind of amazing.

Bathroom Simulator is a video game currently trying to raise $800 on Kickstarter. You probably have an idea in your head of what happens in this game, but I will remark that the official video is beyond anything I could have imagined:

“Bathroom Simulator, in a nutshell, allows you to act like an idiot who has a very low maturity when it comes to bathroom manners,” developer Elias Games writes on the Kickstarter page. It cautions that technological limitations have made it difficult to simulate everything perfectly, “primarily with things dealing with fluid simulations.”

At the time of this writing, the campaign has raised $145 in funding, and I’m personally hoping it can reach $3,000 in the next week, because after that point Elias will add support for the Oculus Rift (insert killer app-killer crap pun here).

But what does the rest of the Re/code pee-nut gallery think? After emailing the link around, here are the opinions I was able to flush out:

Ick! I am not a 4-year-old and see no reason to act like one. Who thinks up this stuff?

No way this is simulating real poop. It’s physically impossible to make a human log that long.

Weird. It kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to use the ladies room.

Within recent memory, I potty-trained two little girls and got a dumb dog and a stubborn cat. This is way too close to my real life.

Nobody wipes in this game. Or washes hands. Or gets a messy period! Can you imagine how the Internet would explode if I did the used-tampon version of this game?

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner, I’ve just been bowled over laughing.

This is basically how you go to the bathroom in New York.

May not make No. 1 or No. 2 on the charts, but a good bet for turd place.

It’s really nice to see the great minds of tech flushing it all away.

$50 says there’s not a single female developer on that team.
