Microsoft Makes Its Case to Developers at Build Conference in San Francisco (Liveblog)

Microsoft’s biggest developer conference of the year starts Wednesday. We will have live coverage starting at 8:30 am PT.

Microsoft has been working on Windows 10 for a while now, but on Wednesday it faces the task of convincing developers it is ready for primetime. Or at least worthy of developers’ time.

Satya Nadella will kick off Microsoft’s Build conference in San Francisco, before being joined by other top Microsoft executives. On the Windows front, Microsoft is gearing up for a summer release of Windows 10, but still has one or two tricks up its sleeve, we are told. Already shown are the new start menu and Project Spartan, an all-new browser designed to replace the aging Internet Explorer for most consumers.

Windows isn’t the only thing on tap. Microsoft is expected to talk up the opportunities to build on top of both Office and the Microsoft Azure cloud service.

Re/code will have live coverage starting at 8:30 am PT.
