After a several year absence, Korea’s LG is getting back in the Windows Phone game.
LG’s Return to Windows Phone Business Limited to the U.S. for Now
The Korean phone maker has a new entry-level phone for Verizon, but is taking a wait-and-see approach to other markets.

This week it announced plans for the LG Lancet, an entry-level smartphone for Verizon Wireless. It will go on sale later this month for $120.
However, LG’s Windows plans are limited to the U.S. for the time being.
“Here and now, we’re focusing on the U.S. market with our latest Windows device, but we’re keeping a close eye on other countries and regions for opportunities,” an LG representative told Re/code.
LG was among the launch device makers for Windows Phone 7, but pulled out of the business amid tepid demand.
“We’ve always taken the position that we were open to doing more Windows phones but we were letting market demand guide us,” the representative said.
Over time, Microsoft has landed deals with Samsung, HTC, ZTE and Huawei, in addition to its own line of Lumia phones from the former Nokia operation. However, it has struggled to keep phone makers interested in building Windows Phones from one year to the next.
