There is a dinosaur on the White House lawn right now

— Olivier Knox (@OKnox) June 11, 2015 The dinosaur is a KitRex — a 3D cardboard model built from a kit, which started as a wildly successful Kickstarter last year and is now a permanent business. White House Deputy Press Secretary Frank Benenati explained on Twitter that the dino is around to celebrate the White House’s “Week of Making,“ encouraging building and entrepreneurship.
It can’t be a coincidence that this dude just happened to make his appearance on the lawn the same weekend that Jurassic World comes out. But clearly mindful that anxieties about dinos on the loose might be running higher than usual, Benenati quickly reassured Knox and the public that KitRex is “not a real dinosaur.”
Duh. Real dinosaurs have feathers.
