Jenner came out on the cover of Vanity Fair’s June issue. Praise came pouring in for Jenner, the magazine, and Annie Leibovitz’s photographs.

And while the photos of Jenner are beautiful, it’s also worth remembering that the courage Caitlyn displayed in coming out is just as beautiful.

“Caitlyn looks amazing and is beautiful but what I think is most beautiful about her is her heart and soul, the ways she has allowed the world into her vulnerabilities,” Orange Is the New Black Star Laverne Cox wrote on Tumblr. Cox is a transgender woman, and has been a vocal and visible advocate for LGBT rights. She was on the cover of Time magazine last May:

“The love and devotion she has for her family and that they have for her. Her courage to move past denial into her truth so publicly. These things are beyond beautiful to me,” Cox added.
