Amazon’s Echo Speaker Now Available for All ... Well, All Willing to Pay $179

The Bluetooth-connected speaker, which had been limited to Prime members, is now available to the general public.

Amazon said Tuesday that it is making its Echo connected speaker available to the general public for $179.

Until now, sales had been on an invite-only basis, with Prime members getting the unit for $99. Amazon said it is taking orders now, with units shipping July 14.
