Re/code Managing Editor Edmund Lee appeared on CNBC on Monday morning to discuss the remarkable power of Taylor Swift, who pretty much single-handedly pushed Apple into changing the terms of its Apple Music service to pay out more royalties to music owners.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on Friday making same-sex marriage legal nationwide, co-Executive Editor Kara Swisher called in to CNBC to discuss the monumental event. “It’s really quite astonishing how quickly this issue has gelled and changed,” Swisher said, “and it’s largely because of companies and activists pressing on this issue of basic fairness and following the 14th Amendment.”
It was a week of firsts inside Re/code, too. Co-Executive Editor Walt Mossberg and Managing Editor of Reviews and Product Coverage Lauren Goode made their first appearance on the Verge’s Vergecast, as the two top product reviewers got acquainted with their new colleagues.
