Apple Will Unveil Revamped iPhone September 9

Apple Kremlinologists think Siri might play a role in the product announcements.

Apple

Yep, it’s that time again.

Apple will host a media event Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, where it is expected to unveil the latest version of its popular iPhone smartphone — and possibly an update to its Apple TV set-top box.

The invitation playfully winks at Apple’s reputation for secrecy around its product launches with the headline “Hey Siri, give us a hint.” It could also speak to the fact that the digital assistant, Siri, will play a broader role in the products Apple introduces. Also, we’re pretty sure if you play the invitation backwards, it says Paul is dead.

Wall Street and Apple watchers expect the company to unveil a modestly updated version of its hot-selling iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and a long-awaited refresh of its $69 streaming media device, the Apple TV. The last major overhaul of the TV set-top box was in 2012, when Apple introduced support for high-definition video.
