Sorkin was up against big writers like Quentin Tarentino (“The Hateful Eight”) and Charles Randolph and Adam McKay (“The Big Short”) for Best Screenplay. His only other Golden Globe win in the category was for 2011’s “The Social Network,” though he has been nominated several times before. During his acceptance speech tonight, Sorkin dedicated the win to his daughter, saying, “Everything I do, I do to impress you, and boys are bad.”
