Oculus’ mobile chief Max Cohen is joining the speaker lineup as VR takes center stage at next week’s Code Mobile

A small group of people are already having lots of fun with virtual reality, but most people have yet to give the new technology a try.

So just how does VR move from early adopters and gamers into the mainstream?

That’s one of the key questions we will be addressing at An Evening with Code Mobile on Nov. 10 in Santa Clara.

So we are thrilled to announce that Oculus mobile chief Max Cohen will be taking part in the event, joining a lineup that also includes Google VR head Clay Bavor.

Even as Oculus focuses on its PC-centric Rift, it has made a mobile bet in partnering with Samsung on Gear VR. Google, meanwhile, is releasing its Daydream View headset the day of the conference as part of a larger bid to make Android the operating system of choice for mobile virtual reality.

In addition to the VR talk, we will look at how mobile technology is creating new ways to make the world a better place. That portion of the evening will include Keller Rinaudo, CEO of Zipline, which is using drones to deliver blood to remote parts of Rwanda.

Also joining will be Jordan Hewson, the CEO of Action Button, which aims to let online news readers take action right from their smartphone on the issues raised by the stories they read. (Hewson also happens to be the daughter of U2 singer Bono.)

The venue will be Ericsson’s Silicon Valley campus and, in addition to the great onstage discussion, we’ll have cocktails to make sure the conversation flows before and after the red chair interviews.

But Nov. 10 is fast approaching, so if you don’t want to actually miss out on the virtual reality talk and more, be sure to register here.
