Donald Trump Calls for Apple Boycott

Trump objects to Apple’s arguments over helping the FBI hack the iPhone.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is calling for a boycott of Apple products because of the company’s dispute with the FBI over an iPhone used by one of the suspected San Bernardino shooters, CNBC reports.

Trump urged consumers to avoid buying Apple products until the company provides software that would bypass the iPhone’s password and allow law enforcement to access information stored the device, according to the news organization.

The candidate, who is an avid user of Twitter, has yet to issue the call to his supporters — instead using the social media platform to trumpet his standing in the polls on the eve of the South Carolina Republican presidential primary on Saturday.

Apple provides a new target for Trump, who spent yesterday slamming Pope Francis after the religious leader suggested Trump “is not Christian” because of the harshness of his campaign promises to deport more immigrants and force Mexico to pay for a wall along the border.
