Arnold Schwarzenegger Endorses John Kasich on Snapchat

The Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has thrown his muscle behind Republican presidential candidate John Kasich.

The former California governor kicked off a campaign stop in Kasich’s home state of Ohio, praising the governor Sunday for balancing the state’s budget and creating jobs.

The cinematic action hero, who’s comfortable in front of a camera, turned to Snapchat to record a 10-second endorsement, you know, for the kids. Some political strategists think of the ephemeral messaging platform as the next digital frontier, and a way to reach 18- to 34-year-olds.

“I want John Kasich to be the next nominee of the Republicans and also to be the next president of the United States,” Schwarzenegger declares, then turns the camera to focus on Kasich, and declares: “Here he is.”

The smiling Ohio governor, in suit sans tie, leans in and happily accepts: “Thank you, Arnold. Love you man.”

One poll shows Kasich pulling ahead of Republican front-runner Donald Trump in Michigan, whose primary will be held Tuesday. The real test comes a week later, during the Ohio Republican primary on March 15.
