Who is better at telling corny “dad jokes”: The Verge Senior Editor Dan Seifert or Amazon’s Siri-like virtual assistant Alexa?

Dan’s best dad joke: “Two men walked into a bar. The third one ducked.”

Alexa’s turn: “Where did Napoleon keep his armies? In his sleevies.”

You can vote on which joke was better in the poll further down in this post. We had the chance to solicit both of these terrible jokes because Dan and Alexa joined Kara Swisher and Lauren Goode on the latest episode of Too Embarrassed to Ask.

On the podcast, Kara, Lauren and Dan answer your questions about Alexa and the various Amazon products it runs on, including the new Amazon Tap (pictured above). Unlike its predecessor, the Amazon Echo, the Tap is only activated when you press the microphone button on its side.

Once you press that button, however, it can provide helpful information, read the news and — yes — tell jokes. As the podcast trio explains, one of the more intriguing aspects of Amazon’s virtual assistant is that it can learn “skills” from other Web services, such as ordering an Uber car. However, that doesn’t mean the Alexa-ready devices are right for everyone; Kara, Lauren and Dan dive into which ones might be worth your money, as well as potential privacy concerns surrounding tech that listens to you.
