Facebook is still in damage control mode over its Trending Topics feature.

Zuckerberg posted a short message on his Facebook page Thursday night as part of his social network’s continued effort to respond to a story that alleged that Facebook workers routinely kept stories about conservatives out of the site’s “trending” box.
“We have found no evidence that this report is true,” the Facebook chief executive wrote. “In the coming weeks, I’ll be inviting leading conservatives and people from across the political spectrum to talk with me about this and share their points of view.”
Facebook has been buffeted this week by reports that its news curators manipulate the news featured in its “Trending Topics” — a charge it sought to push back in great detail today.
“The reason I care so much about this is that it gets to the core of everything Facebook is and everything I want it to be,” Zuckerberg wrote. “Every tool we design is to give more people a voice.”
