Kara Swisher, Lauren Goode and special guest Steven Sinofsky, partner at Andreessen Horowitz, discuss all this and more in the latest episode of our new podcast, “Too Embarrassed to Ask.”
Sinofsky pointed out that, coming out of CES 2016, the importance of software has never been clearer.
“If you go way back to the founding of Microsoft, Bill’s founding thesis was that the valuable business part of the equation was going to be software,” he said. “It’s astounding to me as ‘the older guy’ how much software has become part of everything.”
And yet, questions about meatspace — like “What does the city of the future look like?” and “Can I shoot down a drone?” — certainly aren’t going away. As Kara points out, making the car of the future is a lot easier said than done, no matter how sophisticated the code under the hood may be.
