• The House Select Committee on Benghazi has finally released its long-awaited (or at least long-besomethinged) final report on the 2012 attack that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Terror at the Istanbul airport

• As many as 50 people have been killed in a terrorist attack at the main airport in Istanbul.

• Multiple attackers were involved (reports indicate either three or four suicide bombers). When airport personnel started shooting at them outside the airport, they detonated suicide vests in the parking lot.

When you think about Donald Trump, think about … garbage

• Donald Trump gave a speech today revealing his "jobs plan," which is essentially to force renegotiations of trade deals.

• This is not a new stance for Trump. He's always been a populist — possibly, as Michael Lind (no relation to Dara) argues, one of the purer exemplars of the form we've seen in American politics.

• You could read Tuesday's speech as Trump's pitch for Sanders supporters (although they've always shared an economically populist tone).

• You could also read it as Trump's response to the victory of Brexit — and perhaps even his attempt to avoid the mistakes that led the "Leave" campaign to a catastrophic success.
