Stephen Colbert made a music video for the Democratic convention. It was … something.

There are many ways to launch your week of coverage of the Democratic National Convention, but it seems like Stephen Colbert took by far the most bizarre.

In a four-minute musical introduction, Colbert sang and danced a psychedelic rock song, “Death, Taxes, Hillary” — a play on the idea that a few things in life are inevitable: death, taxes, and, apparently, Hillary Clinton. The song — a sort of modern hippie parody of “Aquarius” from the musical Hair — goes through the big hits of the campaign, from email scandals to a call for Bernie Sanders supporters to come around to Clinton. And, of course, Tim Kaine.

It’s … something. At the very least, it’ll probably be one of the weirder things to come out of the Democratic convention. As Colbert put it during the song, “The party of the donkey is about to get funky.”

If you missed it, Colbert also did a much more conservative music video for the Republican National Convention last week:
