Fifty Shades Darker, Woody Allen’s new comedy, and 5 more new trailers to watch

For more than a year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens held the record for the trailer with the most views in a single day, with 112 million views in 24 hours. This week, that record was broken by a movie about a boy, a girl, and the bondage they enjoy together.

50 Shades Darker, the sequel to the sub-dom boondoggle known as 50 Shades of Grey, amassed 114 million views in its trailer’s first day. So 50 Shades beat Star Wars.

The real secret to enjoying this strange trailer is knowing that the stars of this movie, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, don’t really enjoy filming the sex scenes and possibly don’t like each other very much. It makes you appreciate how good (or not) their acting skills are. Also, this trailer makes me really want to live in a luxury condominium.

Even having watched this trailer three times, I have no idea what Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals is actually about. I don’t know who the villain of this movie is. I don’t know who the protagonist is. I just know that Amy Adams is very spooky, and that I’ve never been more terrified of driving on a highway at night.

Miley Cyrus and Woody Allen team up for laughs, ’60s references, and jokes about bar mitzvahs. I liked watching this trailer because it helped me forget how sad Amy Adams looked in Nocturnal Animals.

Moana looks great. It will make you want to go to the beach and/or an island in the Pacific Ocean. That is all.

J.K. Simmons and Glenn Close appear with Owen Wilson and Ed Helms in this movie about two brothers who find out they are, as the title of the movie suggests, bastards. It also seems like a movie made specifically by people who had compiled a silo of sexual mom jokes but never got to use them.

The Annabelle franchise is basically the inverse of Toy Story. But really, whatever dimwitted human is stupid enough bring a doll this ugly into their home probably deserves all the bad stuff that’s coming to them. Also: This trailer probably has the scariest sounds of any horror movie trailer in recent memory.

Netflix and Joe Swanberg’s (Drinking Buddies) Easy is about sex, the lack of it, and the toll relationships take on it. It looks like the kind of pleasant show you’ll stumble upon on a Saturday afternoon (possibly hungover) and end up watching until it’s time to order pizza. Orlando Bloom, Emily Ratajkowski, Hannibal Buress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Dave Franco are among the stars featured, though it’s hard to pick out who’s having (or not having) sex with whom.
