Peter Kafka covered media and technology, and their intersection, at Vox. Many of his stories can be found in his Kafka on Media newsletter, and he also hosts the Recode Media podcast.

Michael Barbaro used to be a well-regarded political reporter at the New York Times. Now he’s a bona fide star, courtesy of The Daily, the paper’s podcast that launched early this year and instantly became a success.

Five days a week, Barbaro chats up his fellow Times reporters for additional context and insight about stories they’ve published in the paper. And increasingly, The Daily also creates its own, original reporting. It’s making New York Times stories, but ones you can’t read in the New York Times — you’ll need earbuds or a speaker.
