Peter Kafka covered media and technology, and their intersection, at Vox. Many of his stories can be found in his Kafka on Media newsletter, and he also hosts the Recode Media podcast.

The Code Media agenda for this month is jam-packed with the most interesting and influential names in media and technology. But Kara Swisher and I couldn’t resist. We’ve added three more must-see speakers:

Disney EVP Kevin Mayer runs strategy, biz dev and M&A for the media giant, and he’s the man who put together three amazing purchases: Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm. Now he’s engineering Disney’s colossal Fox deal, as well as the company’s move to stream its stuff directly to consumers.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver would be a big deal just because he runs a U.S. pro sports league with worldwide appeal. But Silver thinks he can make basketball even bigger by focusing on innovative ways to present the game, with an eye on capturing younger fans who have grown up on Instagram and Twitch.

Turner CEO John Martin runs a $12 billion business that includes powerful TV networks like CNN and TNT and promising digital projects like Super Deluxe. The big question: What happens if the AT&T deal to buy Time Warner, his parent company, gets approved? What happens if it doesn’t?

We’ve been tell you about Code Media for months, so you know that Mayer, Silver and Martin join a roster that includes top executives from companies like Facebook, YouTube, SoundCloud, 21st Century Fox, Patreon and many more.

You also know that we’re hosting all of them at the Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, Calif., Feb. 12 and 13. And you’ve also probably bought your tickets. If you haven’t, we have a couple left — check here for availability. See you in a few days.
