Peter Balonon-Rosen

Peter Balonon-Rosen is a producer for Vox’s daily news podcast and radio show Today, Explained. Before joining Vox, Peter produced Throughline at NPR. Prior to that, he made podcasts at Marketplace, where he reported/produced for The Uncertain Hour, was a founding producer of This Is Uncomfortable, and contributed reporting to radio broadcasts. He began in radio as an education beat reporter.

Peter’s work has appeared on Snap Judgment, Reveal, NPR’s Planet Money, All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and more. He’s been recognized as a finalist for the Peabody Awards, IRE (Investigative Reporters and Editors) Awards, and Loeb Awards, and has won awards from the National Press Foundation, the National Headliners Awards, Education Writers Association, and others. Peter grew up in Rochester, New York, and misses garbage plates dearly.
