Remember Eric Cantor? Just months ago he was the majority leader of the House of Representatives, helping coordinate the GOP opposition to President Obama’s agenda. But his political career came to a shocking end in June when he lost his primary to a little-known challenger. Now, when you visit EricCantor.com, once his campaign webpage, you see only this — a huge headshot of him that leads nowhere if you click on it:

Cantor resigned from the House of Representatives on August 1. Weeks later, he accepted a job in the Washington office of an investment bank. Such is the sad fate of defeated politicians.
