Urban Outfitters is now selling Hillary Clinton “nutcracker” dolls

Because it is a classy establishment, Urban Outfitters is back to selling Hillary Clinton “nutcracker” dolls:

“They don’t make ‘em like this anymore,” the web site brags. “This deadstock collector’s item is only available in a limited supply.”

The doll — which Urban Outfitters has sold before — costs $60. Which seems like $54.05 too much for something you might find in a very, very sexist Happy Meal.

This kind of thing is standard for the clothing chain, though. Rundowns of all the Urban Outfitters gaffes and offensive products proliferate online. The Week, for instance, counts down “13 Urban Outfitter controversies,” including a blood-splattered Kent State sweatshirt, a shirt featuring a Jewish star that was so evocative of Holocaust imagery that the Anti-Defamation League called it “extremely distasteful and offensive,” an “Eat Less” t-shirt, and so on.

Urban Outfitters is run by Richard Hayne, who donated more than $13,000 to Rick Santorum’s campaign, and whose politics probably don’t exactly align with Hillary Clinton’s.

Given the Court’s Republican supermajority, this case is unlikely to end well for trans people.
