A gunman opened fire at Florida State University after midnight on Thursday, wounding three students before police killed him. During the shooting, different reports permeated through social media about what was going on. But one dad, Jacksonville Business Journal President David Sillick, got the most terrifying tweet any parent could expect during a situation like this:
The terror of the Florida State University shooting, in one text

— David Sillick (@jbjpublisher) November 20, 2014 Sillick’s daughter reportedly turned out okay after the ordeal. But gun control advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety retweeted the image of the text, writing, “No parent should ever have to receive a text like this.” Others responded to Sillick’s and Everytown’s tweets with support.
